NINETY years of the Rotary Foundation were highlighted at the Rotary Club of Adliya’s weekly meeting in the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel Residence and Spa.

The talk was presented by Rotary Club of Manama past president and former Bapco chief executive officer Hussain Tadayon, who gave an overview of the Rotary Foundation, its history, activities and future vision.

He explained the Rotary Foundation was created in 1917 by Rotary International to help manage particular projects that improve global health, education and alleviate poverty.

Rotary Foundation is an independent body with trustees that oversee the programmes of Rotary International, which are divided into three categories: humanitarian, education and Polio Plus.

Mr Tadayon also discussed how Rotary Foundation’s money was generated, distributed and its future vision.

The event was attended by club president Talal Al Mannai, members and guests.
