Ms. Barbara Lubin was the key speaker at our regular meeting on Monday, 26th Janaury 2009, at the Diplomat Radisson Hotel.

Ms. Barbara Lubin is a founder and executive director of “Middle East Children’s Alliance” (MECA). It is a registered non-profit and non-political organization working for justice in the Middle East by supporting projects for children and youth in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq, as well as providing emergency medical aid for those communities.

For more information on MECA kindly visit the website: mecaforpeace.org.

Many members had questions for Ms. Lubin after her graphic and heart-breaking description of the atrocities meted out at the Palestinians in Gaza by the Israelis during their three week insurrection into the Gaza Strip. Many also pledged that they will do whatever they can to help and assist the Palestinians to rebuild their lives, especially the children who were very traumatised by the atrocities.

The Rotary Club of Adliya salutes Ms. Lubin for her humanitarian work and shall strive to help her with her honourable work for humanity.
